Stream Dragon ...

Dragonfly nymphs have been tied in many different ways for decades by fly anglers but many of these patterns are mostly suited for still waters.  As members of the Odonata group of insects they are a very important food source in rivers and streams.   All three different types of dragonflies, swimmers (Aeshnidae), crawlers (Libellulidae and Corduliidae) and burrowers (Gomphidae) are found in the streams of Southern Africa of which the most preyed upon are the swimmers.

These swimming dragonflies are often found in 3 specific colourations, line green, black and brown and of which black is the most common.

Large trout and Yellow fish (both Small and Large mouth) will not often refuse this pattern if correctly fished.
