Fred’s Black Adams ...

Originator:  Fred Steynberg

The Black Adams was created to imitate the adult Prongill mayfly found in the clear mountain streams of the Eastern Cape, Natal and Lesotho.  This fly was first tied by Fred in 1997 and has ever since been one of Linecasters ‘super dry flies’.  This simple fly does not only simulate a specific mayfly adult but is often an excellent substitute for midge, mosquito, black fly and other imitations. This fly, if fished correctly, is a deadly pattern that will attract most fish that are willing to ‘look-up’.

Long, 12 – 14’ leaders on 5 – 6X tippet will keep the fly line away from the fly in clear water and will allow for a natural appearance.
